Role: Creative Direction, Copywriting and Design

In order to meet an important deadline, our team was tasked with creating a Design Thinking event to inspire ideation. The lead time? 2 weeks. On top of that, one of those weeks was 100% dedicated to my vacation.

Since I have a firm “I-don’t-work-on-vacation” policy, I let our intern take the lead on finding and editing a free template (in Canva!) to use for event promotion while I was out. Upon returning, I used elements of her template to build out a theme flexible enough to work in all of our promotional channels.

The short window meant that there wasn’t much time to be pixel-perfect or second-guess myself. I just had fun with it, and it turned out to be a great event for the team.

Taking place during Memphis's Annual Barbecue cooking contest, Start-Q is a coordinated entrepreneurial event designed to connect emerging startups to investors. 

The Project: Come up with a creative way to invite 25 VIP contacts to the event. Many of the investors don't live in the city, so they may not be aware of how serious Memphis takes barbecue fest. 

Our Approach: Send special Memphis BBQ themed boxes featuring items from our local bbq restaurants.  

Budget: >$350

Dorothy is a text-based service from Gerber allowing parents to get their baby questions answers in real time. Dorothy is way more than your average text bot. Dorothy is backed by real experts in sleep, lactation, and nutrition. 

The initial brief was just for an email campaign, but we have be able to adapt Dorothy to many (upcoming) campaigns across various social channels. If I had to name one product that taught me the basics of animation, Dorothy gets it, hands down.

For this fun project, I was tasked with creating IBM-themed panels for one of the floors at Ogilvy and Mather's New York Office. 

An ode to the past and a look to the future for my 10-year class anniversary. 

buildOn is a service organization dedicated to transforming communities from within by empowering at risk youth to spark long term change. The program is celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, so we were tasked with coming up with creative territories to carry the organization into the next 25 years. 

Expect More was one of the territories chosen for their digital and traditional media partners.

I was responsible for mocking up printed collateral and finding quirky and creative ways to illustrate scenarios to be used on social channels.
